Our Opioid Poisoning Response Guide is a practical community resource focused on recognizing and responding to drug poisonings in the context of today’s increasingly toxic and unpredictable drug supply. It covers things like recognizing opioid poisonings, rescue breathing, naloxone administration, aftercare, atypical poisoning presentations, and responding in real-world community settings.

We created this guide to make overdose response information more accessible, realistic, and grounded in harm reduction. A lot of traditional trainings don’t fully reflect what poisonings actually look like right now, especially with increasing contaminants in the supply. This guide was built for anyone who wants to feel more confident responding to emergencies with care and without judgment.

The guide also explores topics like stigma, language, collective care, responder wellness, and the leadership of people who use drugs in keeping their communities alive. At its core, it’s about helping people stay safer, supporting each other through crisis, and making lifesaving knowledge more accessible to the community.
